Writing, sealing and annotations

Understand the 24-hour editing window and add new thoughts after sealing.

Each entry has its own clock

After recording an entry, you have 24 hours to edit its title, text, photos and details. The journal date is not the start of the countdown: an entry about a past date still starts its editing window when recorded.

Editing does not restart a fresh 24 hours. Follow the countdown shown in the app.

Keep your original words

When the window ends, the original content is permanently sealed. You can read it, but cannot rewrite it. Sealing keeps what you expressed at the time; it does not require perfect writing.

Add a thought from today

Append an annotation when revisiting a sealed entry. Describe what happened later or what you understand now. Annotations remain separate and do not overwrite the original.

For organizing memories, try annotations or search first. Accidentally deleted entries can be restored during their Trash retention period; see the settings and recovery guide.
